Top 10 Tips for Choosing an NDIS Service Provider
When it comes to choosing the best NDIS Service Provider for your needs, it's important to consider your goals, research into the history and testimonials the organisation has to offer, and think about the following ten questions.
Does the provider offer the kinds of supports that I may need?
You can see our Supports here.
Do the supports offered by any of the providers meet my personal needs and help me to achieve any of the goals I’ve set for myself?
When you begin your discussions with Enable WA, we ask a lot of questions about your personal goals. They may be related to employment, education, moving out of home or becoming more social. Whatever your goals, we pair you with the right people to help reach them.
Will the provider work to support me as an individual with rights?
At Enable WA, our primary drive is to promote inclusivity. This value is instilled in all of our practice - from encouraging feedback from clients, training modules based around knowing and caring for the rights of people, and policies regarding inclusive practice of all genders, sexual orientations, race and religion.
If you ever feel you're being treated unfairly, we have systems in place to help you share your concerns in a safe, caring environment.
How will the provider ensure I have choice and control over how it supports me?
When we initially meet, we take the time to get to know you. That includes going over your Plan in detail, and finding out your hobbies, your preferences for Support and more. Your Support Worker and Service Coordinator meet with you and/or your carer/family regularly for reviews.
Can the provider guarantee flexibility of support that fits my life?
Our Service Coordinators are experts in the field of disability, and have years of experience behind them. We will do our absolute best to get the most out of your Plan, so you're given the flexibility you require.
What skills and experience do their staff members have?
We hire a diverse range of people, from expert Therapists to new Support Workers who want to make a difference in the lives of others. Our team are all trained in their areas, and we will match you to the best person for the job.
Does the provider charge a fair price?
Our prices are all set in accordance to the NDIS. You can see our price list here.
What evidence can the provide show to me that it delivers high quality support?
At Enable WA, we are happy to report that the most common finding from a recent audit amongst our clients was that they felt Enable WA treated them like a person, "not a number". You can also see from our latest Annual Reports the work we have been doing in the community, or read our client testimonials here.
Does the provider have feedback and complaints systems that are independent of their service delivery systems?
We sure do! We urge all of our clients and families of clients to become involved in our Client Advisory Group - a group to help us determine the future policies and practices of the organisation. You can apply here.
In the case of making a complaint, we are very supportive in helping you get it to the right people. You can leave a complaint or file an incident report here.
What do other people with disability or carers say about the quality of the support the provider delivers to them?
