CORDS Meet up in August 2023

This week, the Council of Regional Disability Services (CORDS), met again to discuss the upcoming changes to the disability and health sector. Led by Kathy Hough, CEO of Far North Community Services, the meeting saw a great turnout of CORDS members from various parts of regional Western Australia.

The agenda was packed with informative sessions, featuring discussions with the WA NDIA Office and the Office of Disability. They delved into the upcoming NDIS review in October and the Royal Commission in September, shedding light on the anticipated changes and reforms. Engaging sessions were also held on Sector Stewardship and PACE – the new NDIS reporting tool that will be introduced nationwide later in 2023.

Another collaborative effort involved working alongside NDS on shaping their WA 2024-25 Pre-Budget Submission, with a special emphasis on workforce development.

The event turned out to be a resounding success, capturing everyone's attention and involvement. As we approach the end of the year, our final meeting is set for November. By then, we'll have a clearer understanding of the outcomes from the NDIS Review and the Royal Commission report. It promises to be an insightful wrap-up to the year!
