Enable WA: Allied Health Therapy Services

Provided by our team of qualified professionals.

Whether your NDIS Plan includes Therapy Support for physical or mental assistance, our team of caring professionals are here for you. 

We have three Therapy offices (in Bunbury, Perth and in Busselton), but usually we travel to our clients to visit them at home. For our travel costs, please refer to our Pricing List.

Our new introduction of telehealth services now enables us to book sessions over the internet - providing one on one care via webcam. 

Occupational Therapy 

What is OT?

The main purpose of occupational therapy is to provide individuals with the appropriate supports to engage in everyday activities that are meaningful and necessary to them.

 

‘Occupations’ are the activities that we participate in daily such as, getting dressed, having a shower, eating, driving, going to work and everything in between. The goal is to promote independence and satisfaction in these areas of people’s lives.

What services do our Occupational Therapists provide?

Physiotherapy

What is Physiotherapy?

Physiotherapists work with children and adults to support their physical wellbeing and independence. This includes supporting individuals who experience difficulty with strength, balance, coordination, sensation, range of movement or endurance.

 

Physiotherapy can also assist in diagnosing and providing treatment to individuals experiencing pain or recovering from an injury to support them to return to the activities they enjoy.

What services do our Physiotherapists provide?

  • Comprehensive mobility assessment

  • Tailored exercise and functional rehabilitation programs

  • Hydrotherapy

  • Prescription of mobility aids and equipment

  • Pain management and injury recovery services

Speech Therapy

What is Speech Therapy?

The primary goal of speech pathology is to support children and adults who may be having difficulty with their communication and/or ability to eat and drink.

 

This includes speech clarity, understanding language, expressing themselves, listening, reading, writing, social skills, voice issues, feeding themselves as well as their ability to swallow.

What services do our Speech Therapists provide?

  • Assessing and providing intervention for communication challenges

  • Assessing feeding & swallowing issues

  • Assessment and prescription of Alternative Augmentative Communication (AAC)

  • Up-skilling individual’s care providers

  • Mealtime intervention programs

  • Teaching social skills

Psychology

What is Psychology?

Psychology aims to understand how people think, feel, behave and learn. Is it the study of the human mind; emotion, motivation, personality, memory and perception, including the biological processes that drive these functions.

 

Psychologists study human thinking and behaviour to better understand, and be able to impact, how individuals, groups and communities thrive. Our psychologists will help you find solutions to real life problems and improve your quality of life.

What services do our Psychologists provide?

  • Cognitive behavioural therapies

  • Mindfulness-based therapies

  • Behaviour change in pursuit of physical and mental wellbeing

  • Emotion regulation

  • Managing relationships and family dynamics

  • Psychoeducation

  • Screening for and assessment of mental health conditions

Positive Behaviour Support (PBS)

What is Positive Behaviour Support?

Positive behaviour support or commonly referred to PBS is an applied science on addressing challenging behaviours with a core focus on increasing someone’s quality of life.

What is considered challenging behaviour?

A challenging behaviour is any behaviour that impacts the person/others:

  • Quality of life

  • Safety – the person and/or others become at risk

Funding

The PBS service is funded by the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) under the line item Capacity Building – Improved Relationships.

 

If you feel this service is needed and not funded within your plan, speak to your Support Coordinator or NDIS Planner for information regarding accessing our services.

Positive Behaviour Support Specialists

Enable WA’s Positive Behaviour Specialists are all allied health professionals with expertise in managing and modifying challenging behaviour.
